I was concerned about getting through immigration and picking up the campervan in decent time to get on the road and make it to our first campsite before dark while jet-lagged, driving on the wrong side of the road and not really knowing where we were going. Didn't quite make it before dark but the drive was fine - stunning in places - and we eventually found the campsite at Pismo State Beach. Ashamed to say we ate at McD's...for the only time this trip, we've sworn. Went for the easy option, in the circumstances. Popped the top of the van for the boys and all crashed out early.
